Two hospitalized in Fremont County crash on US Highway 20

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.

FREMONT COUNTY – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred near mile marker 386 on US-20 at 7:47 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, near Island Park.

A gray 2006 Toyota Matrix driven by a 24-year-old female from Jacksonville, Florida, with a 23-year-old female passenger from Jacksonville, Florida, was traveling eastbound on US-20 when it collided with a white 2021 Freightliner in the westbound lanes. The Freightliner was driven by a 31-year-old male from Brooklyn, New York, with a 39-year-old male passenger from Brooklyn, New York.

Both passengers of the Toyota Matrix had seatbelts on. Both passengers were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Both passengers of the Freightliner were wearing their seatbelts, and neither male was transported.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police (ISP). ISP was assisted by Idaho Department of Transportation, Fremont EMS and Fremont Sheriff’s Office.
