Elvin Don Wheeler
September 30th, 1961 - December 19th, 2024
Elvin Don Wheeler age 63, passed away surrounded by family December 19, 2024, at EIRMC.
Don was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son to Oliver and Betty Palmer Wheeler. He attended Ririe High School in 1979, then later went on to Auction School in 1985.
Don was first married to Valerie Hackworth for 11 years and later in 1981 got divorced. His second wife was Jolynn Gould who he was married to for 18 years and later divorced in 2012. Don worked as an Auctioneer and built his career that carried his lifelong legacy Town and Country Auctions, He worked for Jerry Walchli as a farm/cowboy hand and learned how to shoe horses which was a lifelong career, a Truck Driver for SMH Trucking, in 2005 he worked at Tadd Jenkins as a ranch hand and was a Horse Trainer in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. He later started Rocky Mountain Sealers that began to flourish over the years. He drove truck for Enviro Straw hauling straw waddles.
Don was a member of the Cowboy Church, Rigby Chariot Association, All American Cutter Association, Bonneville Chariot Association, National Cutter Association, Jefferson County Posse, Upper Valley Charity Association, and was the President of the WCC and CRA for many years, he owned Rocky Mountain Sealers which he took great pride in owning and operating his business. Don enjoyed cowboying, horses, chariot racing, trucking, announcing Flat Track, Cutter Races, and Indian Relay Races for many years. His biggest pride and joy were his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his daughters Dani Wheeler of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jordan Reynolds of Twin Falls, Idaho, Laramie (Tate) Rose of Blackfoot, Idaho, Telaine (Andy) Packer of Idaho Falls, Idaho. His sons R.D. (Luanne) Wheeler of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Taylor Jenkins of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Tegan (Charey) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ryker (Jerika) Landon of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Siblings Sister Sherri (Don) Isom of Ririe, Idaho, and brother Dave (Toni) Wheeler of Ririe, Idaho.
He is preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Betty Wheeler and brother Danny Wheeler.
Services will be held Monday, December 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Ririe LDS Church (285 2nd W St, Ririe, ID 83443). Visitation Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 5:00 – 6:30 PM. Visitation Prior to service from 11:30 – 12:30pm at the Ririe LDS Church (285 2nd W St, Ririe, ID 83443). Interment will take place at Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
