Mark Steven D’Aversa, 65, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024 in Rigby, Idaho.

Mark was born on March 10, 1959 in Brook Park, Ohio to Ted D’Aversa and Mary Lou Istvan. He earned a B.S. at the Ohio State University and a M.S. at the University of Montana where he met Mary Smetanka, his future wife.

Mark worked for the Montana Division of State Lands, the US Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management as a hydrologist, fisheries biologist, and soil scientist. Prior to moving west, he worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

A lifelong Catholic, he was a supporter of wildlife and habitat conservation. He was an avid reader who was passionate about aviation, aviation history, and military history.
