A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.

Every day from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and today we are surprising a cashier who works at Broulim’s in Ammon.

Susan has had constant mechanical issues with her 1994 Ford Explorer. She only lives about a half mile from the store so she sometimes walks to and from work. Occasionally, on really bad days, someone offers her a ride.

This past March, Susan got off of work, did some grocery shopping and left the store with a couple of bags of groceries. A few minutes later, while she was walking across the crosswalk, she was hit by a car on Sunnyside Road.

Susan suffered multiple injuries and broken bones. After many months of physical therapy, she was able to go back to work.

Her vehicle is still having issues. The heater knob keeps turning circles and both front doors had to have the insides rebuilt.

Susan does an amazing job and always has a smile to share but she could really use a reliable vehicle.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to visit Susan with an early Christmas gift. Check out the video in the player above!
