Stanley Wayne Linville
May 20th, 1936 - December 22nd, 2024
Stanley Wayne Linville (88) of Ririe, Idaho, left the company of his wife, children and grandchildren on December 22, 2024, to meet his savior and to join family and friends who were awaiting his arrival.
Stan was born May 20, 1936, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was the third child of Harvey Linville and Avis Vaughn Fisher. The family lived in Swan Valley, Idaho, until he was 6 years old before moving to Washington. After graduating high school (1955) in Richland, WA, he returned to Idaho Falls to live with his grandmother. He married his sweetheart, Sharon Dee Tyler on June 21, 1957. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this year. In 1969 Stan and Sharon moved with four of their children to Ririe. “The twins” were added to their family in 1971.
A man of few words, Stan demonstrated his love by his never ending service to others. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a priesthood holder, temple worker, and has held several callings in the ward including one that he considered most important – home teacher. Stan and Sharon served a mission in Nauvoo, IL in 2000 and 2001. The mission was a defining moment in his life.
Stan has always been a hard worker. His hobbies included constructing log furniture, welding, hunting, and playing games with his family. He loved the outdoors and the mountains. He had a great sense of humor.
Stan is survived in by his wife, Sharon, his sister, Valeen Meyer of Logan, Utah, son, Rick (Peggy) Linville of Billings, Montana, daughters, Leta Chadwick and Trina (Doug) Maras of Ririe, Idaho, Ramona (David Musch) Linville of Beaman, Iowa, sons, Jonathan (Rebekah) Linville of Heath, Texas, and Jeffrey (Julie) Linville of Puyallup, Washington, 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Christina Linville, brother Harvey Kay Linville, sister, Ruby Moore, son-in-law, Kirk Chadwick, granddaughters, Penny McNeely and Jennifer Barr.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Ririe LDS Church at 285 2nd West, Ririe, ID 83443. The family will meet with friends on Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm and again on Friday prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 am, both at the church. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
