A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.

Every day from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and today we are surprising a teacher named Alesha.

She is very involved in the Idaho Falls theatre community. Not only is Alesha fun onstage, but she is also a joy to be around offstage. She is infectiously funny, a team player, incredibly supportive and loving, and has the gift of making you feel that you are way more important and interesting than you actually are. The awesome thing about this is that she’s an elementary school teacher and works every day to help her students feel that way about themselves.

Alesha is always coming up with fun and insightful ways to teach them. She cares if they feel valued and seen. She consistently shows up to their games, performances, and anything else that is important to them. Her students invite her to these things because they want her to share in their lives and they’ve come to support her when she’s in shows.

Alesha’s furnace recently broke and this is a big hardship on her on a teacher’s salary at this time of year.

The East Idaho News elves were asked to surprise Alesha with an early Christmas gift. Check out the video in the player above!
