A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.

Every day from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and today we are surprising a woman who lost most of her belongings in a house fire in Aberdeen last week.

Elaine is a very giving person, she is always putting others before herself. She is has a heart of gold and is the #1 fan of all Aberdeen sports. She advocates to bring the community together to rally around the students and athletes and brings such positive energy to each event she attends.

Elaine has also served on the Aberdeen School Board for many years. She is a grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren who she cherishes and makes lasting memories with. Elaine is also a lover of animals – especially her cats. She spends a portion of her time each day making sure that not only her animals are fed but others as well.

Elaine and her husband Joel lost their home of 42 years to a big fire on Dec. 16. They made it out safely with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They are currently staying with their daughter until they figure out what to do next.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to visit Elaine with an early Christmas gift. Check out the video in the player above.
