Betty Pearl Day
May 19th, 1951 - December 21st, 2024
Betty P. Day, 73, of Menan, Idaho, passed away at her home on December 21, 2024. Betty was born on May 19, 1951, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Betty L. Bennet and Theodore C. Walker. Betty graduated from Rigby High School and married Charles L. Day on April 3, 1970. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple on September 4, 1993. Throughout her career, Betty worked for the Jefferson School District and retired as a beloved librarian. She also served in various roles within the Jefferson Free Library District for over 35 years, including board member, chair, secretary, and scouting. Betty was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as the former mayor of Menan and on the Menan City Council. Her hobbies included getting her nails and hair done, reading, decorating for every holiday, and spending cherished time with her family. Betty’s life journey took her to Newdale, Roberts, and finally Menan, Idaho, where she made lasting memories and friendships. Betty lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Tim) Burgess of Sunset, Utah, Sons, Jeff (Toni) Day of LaBelle, Idaho, Rod (Jana) Day of LaBelle, Idaho, Jason (Chandra) Day of Montview, Idaho, Sisters, Sue (Terry) Schuetz of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jeri (Dave) Nelson of Goshen, Idaho, Brothers, Paul (Kathy) Walker of Rigby, Idaho, Brian (Jeanne) Walker of Menan, Idaho, and she was blessed with 8 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Charles “Chuck” Walker, one sister Pat Day and one granddaughter Reegan Day.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Menan Red Brick Church (3547 East Menan/Lorenzo Hwy Menan, ID 83434). The family will meet with friends Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, and on Monday prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 am, both at the Menan Red Brick Church.
