Clinton Lee Hansen
December 10th, 1957 - December 20th, 2024
Clinton Lee Hansen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the age of 67, after a courageous battle with a long illness. He was born on December 10, 1957, in the small community of Rexburg, Idaho, to Vearl LaVar Hansen and Loa Lee Hansen. As the oldest of four boys, Clint nurtured a sense of responsibility from a young age, which would define many aspects of his life.
Growing up on the family farm in Rexburg, Clint learned the value of hard work and the importance of family ties. He enjoyed exploring the great outdoors, which fostered a deep appreciation for nature that would remain with him throughout his life. After graduating from Madison High School in 1976, Clint pursued various interests before meeting the love of his life, Jeanine, while cruising down Main Street in January 1979. Their connection was immediate and profound; Clint quickly recognized that Jeanine was not only his soulmate but also a spirited partner who would stand by his side through every challenge. The song “Through the Eyes of Love” became their wedding theme, perfectly encapsulating their enduring love and commitment to one another.
Clint and Jeanine were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 10, 1979. They established their home in Rexburg, where they lovingly raised their two children, Paige and Brach. The family shared a passion for outdoor activities, with Clint introducing his children to skiing and snowmobiling during their formative years. Clint’s enthusiasm for adventure was infectious, and his love for snowmobiling became a cherished family tradition. He made sure his children were on snowmobiles before they even learned to walk, and that was especially true for Paige, his little girl. Clint took great delight in her talent as a dancer and was always there to support her performances. They shared many special trips together, from dance competitions in Las Vegas to dancing for the Oakland Raiders.
Clint and Jeannine’s connection extended well beyond their winter pursuits. As summers unfolded, they eagerly embraced the warmth and freedom that the season offered. Vibrant days were spent cruising along winding roads on Clint’s motorcycle, the wind whipping through their hair as they carved through breathtaking landscapes. Their laughter and spirited conversations filled the air, creating memories that sparkled like the sun above.
On weekends, they ventured into the wilderness in their trusty side-by-side, exploring rugged trails and discovering hidden gems in nature. Each adventure deepened their bond, as they tackled challenges together and reveled in the thrill of the ride. Together, they were inseparable, embodying the perfect duo—partners in crime, united in their love for adventure and each other. Despite facing significant challenges, including losing his legs due to illness, Clint’s spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to find ways to join in the fun and ride.
Clint’s passion for snowmobiling led him to become an active participant in the snowmobiling community. He proudly served as President of the Idaho State Snowmobile Association for four years and the Madison County Moody Powder Pushers Snowmobile Club for twelve years. Additionally, he served as a board member of the District 33 Grooming Board, which covers Jefferson, Madison, and Teton counties.
The family’s commitment to snowmobiling was evident, as Jeanine, Brach, and Paige also took on leadership roles within the ISSP. Remarkably, all four family members held the position of President of the Madison County Powder Pushers. Their love for snowmobiling created a strong bond that they cherished together. Off the trails, Clint enjoyed quality time with his son Brach, working on snowmobiles and sharing his cooking skills with the family, particularly whipping up mouthwatering Dutch oven meals that brought everyone together.
Clint had a deep love for the outdoors and was also dedicated to his community. He was in his third year of service on the Madison County Planning and Zoning Board, where he volunteered his time and expertise to help shape local policies and enhance the community for future generations. Clint’s upbringing on the family farm sparked a passion for agriculture, leading to a fulfilling 30-year career with Nebraska Irrigation. During this time, he formed lasting friendships with his colleagues, who respected Clint for his work ethic and dedication.
Though Clint had a deep fondness for Idaho and all its natural beauty, his greatest love was for his family and friends. He valued the relationships he built over the years and was known for his unwavering dependability and loyalty. Clint shared a special bond with his brothers, Clifford and Clark, often conveying that he would sacrifice anything for their well-being and happiness. Above all, Clint wished to be remembered as a devoted family man, often reflecting on what truly mattered in life: “As long as I succeed as a husband and father, the rest is just highs and lows that come and go. Being a man my family can depend on is really the only thing I ever wanted to be.”
Clint is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Jeanine Harrop Hansen; their two children: daughter Paige Hansen of Rexburg and son Brach (Kambri) Hansen of Ashton; and his cherished granddaughter, Bristyl Hansen, the sweet daughter of Brach and Kambri. He is also survived by his two brothers, Clifford Hansen and Clark (Joyce) Hansen, both residing in Rexburg. Clint was preceded in death by his parents, Vearl and Loa, as well as his younger brother Chris.
Clint’s warm spirit, kindness, and zest for life have left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He is deeply loved and will be sorely missed by family, friends, and the community he so dearly cherished.
