Sharon Fae Leatham
December 12th, 1941 - January 7th, 2025
Sharon Fae Curtis Leatham, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 7, 2025, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital of an extended illness.
Sharon was born on December 12, 1941, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Wesley Bemis Curtis and Juanita Jones Curtis. She grew up in Jameston, Idaho, where she attended the local schools and graduated from Shelley High School in 1960.
On June 30, 1961, Sharon married Douglas Allen Leatham in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Sharon dedicated her talents to serving others. She worked for School District #91 as an attendance secretary at Eagle Rock Junior High School and later contributed to the Special Services and Music Departments.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sharon embraced numerous callings with the Young Women and Relief Society organization. She found her most joy serving the Primary children. Alongside her husband, they served a Humanitarian Center Service Mission in Idaho Falls for one year. Sharon found happiness in raising her two children, camping, traveling, and spending cherished time with her sweet grandchildren. She also loved coloring pages for the Humanitarian Center, opening her doors to friends and family, and doting on her beloved cat, Ms. Pickles.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Douglas Allen Leatham of Idaho Falls, ID; her daughter, Angela (Mark) Giles of Ucon, ID; her son, Corey (Vicki) Leatham of Idaho Falls, ID; her brothers, Neil Curtis of Shelley, ID, Harold (Cheryl) Curtis of Nampa, ID, Paul (Connie) Curtis of Mesa AZ, her sister, Gloria (Rod) Curtis Kartchner of West Valley, UT; and seven treasured grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Juanita Curtis; sisters, Janet Campbell, Stella McCann; sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law; and her beloved twin sister, Sheryl Johnson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Idaho Falls Westhill Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive, with Bishop Brodie Atwood officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral services. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
