CAREY — Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on northbound U.S. Highway 93 at milepost 213, just north of Carey.

The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from ISP.

Police reports show a 55-year-old male from Idaho Falls was driving southbound on US-93 in a silver 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. The Chevrolet Silverado appears to have crossed the center line into the northbound traffic and collided with a blue 2021 Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 62-year-old female from Kuna.

Both drivers succumbed to their injuries, according to the release. A 38-year-old female from Kuna was transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital.

All occupants were wearing seat belts.

The northbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately four hours to allow emergency responders to assist those at scene. The roadway is now open.
