Broncos Stampede Cowboys: Game Recap

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready ...

BOISE — The Broncos won, 96-55, over the Wyoming Cowboys and completed a season sweep. Andrew Meadow led Boise State with 18 points, shooting 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Obi Agbim led Wyoming with 16 points.

Story from First Kick Was Good.

Good Old Fashioned Whoopin’

After a heartbreaking loss in Logan, this is precisely what the doctor ordered. The Broncos won in every statistical category, rebounding 33-22 (11 OREB), Turnovers 8-14, shooting +50% from the field and 3-point land. Every player that touched the court either recorded a rebound or points.

Tuesday was a night to build confidence that Boise State could run offensively with anyone in the conference. It was refreshing to see the defense turn up as well. It’s no easy feat to hold a D-1 basketball team under 60, and the Broncos did it with apparent ease.

Leon’s Lineups Cont.

In what seems to be a recurring segment of these recaps, coach Leon Rice changed his starting lineup once again.

Tuesday, much to the surprise of Bronco Nation, Dylan Anderson’s run appears over as starting Center. Who might you think would replace him? Obviously, O’mar Stanley, right? Wrong.

Bronco Nation says hello to the Dutchman, Emanuel Ugbo.

Also, fun fact: this is Leon’s 10th different player to start. Now, I understand this is just Wyoming, but Ugbo passed the eye test. He brought energy on both sides of the ball and started the momentum in the right direction. I hope this is the same starting five Rice rolls with on Friday.

Deja Vu

Once again, we sit here on Wednesday, after a big home victory, hoping to carry the momentum to this the weekend’s big game.

Last week, it was at Utah State. This week, it’s Friday night at The Pit vs New Mexico. Due to New Mexico’s loss at San Jose State Tuesday night, this will be no easy feat. They’ll be extra motivated for a bounce back, but this is a must-win to keep Boise State’s hopes of an at-large bid alive and my personal hopes for a successful season.
