Lloyd Thomas Stanger of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away February 26, 2025, at his home.

Lloyd was born to Thomas Laughlin Stanger and Mary Elizabeth Eldredge on September 9,1944, in Idaho Falls. Lloyd was the third of seven children. He attended schools in the Idaho Falls area. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army and served a year in Korea. After serving for three years, he returned home and met the love of his life, Linda Gay Kelsey. They were married March 24,1967, and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised three sons and in 57 years of marriage, their family grew to include nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren with one more on the way.

Lloyd worked in the petroleum industry with his longest employer being Don’s Service Station and Equipment. He really enjoyed this line of work because he could travel, meet and talk with a lot of people. Lloyd was friendly and liked to tease. He sometimes joked that he wanted to be buried in an old gas pump. He also worked for Northwest Cosmetics in maintenance and retired from there in 2014.

Lloyd enjoyed spending time with Linda, their boys and grandchildren. He was always good to help Linda’s parents as well as his own. He had a great smile and liked to have fun.

Lloyd was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He always magnified his callings and was willing to help with anything he was asked. After retirement, he and Linda enjoyed fulfilling a service missionary calling to the Idaho Falls Humanitarian Center. Lloyd was well loved by all he came in contact with.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sons, David, Daren (Wendy) and Brian (Amber); grandchildren, Justin (Cassie), Lindsie (Brett) Buckland, Jackson, Rylee (Josh) Black, Braxton (Liliana), Kellie, Kolby, Ellie, and Carter; brother, Calvin Dean (Darla); sisters, Janice Lee Stephens (Richard Earl, deceased) and Karen L’nette (Ray) Hannah.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patricia Ann Daniel, Bonnie Kay (Ronald Glair, deceased) Killian; and brother, Raymond Wayne (Roxann, surviving).

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Taylor 1st Ward, 1101 East 1250 North, with Bishop Craig Hudman officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Military Honor Guard.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
