Anita Lee Hiatt, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 10, 2025, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of her loving family and Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

Anita was born September 17, 1942, in San Diego, California, to Erwin McFarland and Melva Irene Ogborn McFarland. She moved to Idaho with her mother a few years later. She was raised by Murray Hammond and Melva Irene Ogborn Hammond in Blackfoot, Idaho. She attended schools in Blackfoot and graduated from Snake River High School. She also attended Stevens-Henager College in Salt Lake City, Utah, and met Jesse Hiatt.

On August 16, 1963, she married Jesse Aldred Hiatt in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Anita and Jesse made their home in South Jordan, Utah, where they lived until 1978. They then moved to the Shelley–Idaho Falls area where she lived for 44 years. Anita worked as a CNA at Good Samaritan and also worked as a custodian for the LDS church.

Anita, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has blessed the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, cooking, and genealogy, but her greatest love was spending time with family. She was a true example of kindness and selflessness and lived a life of service and helping others.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Fletch) Mullins of Rigby, ID; son, Mark Hiatt of Rigby, ID; daughter, Ilene (Cory) Stolworthy of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Rebecca (Matt) Wall of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Samuel (Sara) Hiatt of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, William (Ruth) Hammond of Blackfoot, ID; sister, Bonnie Egbert of Blackfoot, ID; sister, Deanna (Claude) Nielsen of Blackfoot, ID; sister, Dorothea (Stephen) Dunham of Huntsville, AL; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Irene Hammond; husband, Jesse Hiatt; sons, Lance Hiatt and Jacob Hiatt; grandson, Jesse Hammon; sister, Linda Walker; and biological father, Erwin McFarland.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Taylor 1st Ward, 1101 East 1250 North, with Bishop Craig Hudman officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
