SUGAR-CITY – Sugar-Salem’s Jackson Gardner signed this week to play baseball at the College of Southern Idaho.
Gardner, a key piece of the Diggers’ state title run last year, plays infield and has been an All-State first-team selection the past two seasons.
Last year Gardner hit .411, including .519 during the postseason, and compiled 21 RBIs as the Diggers won their first state title.
He’s also one of the state’s top right-handed pitchers, finishing 8-0 with a 2.14 ERA while striking out 76 hitters in 39.1 innings last season.
Gardner committed to CSI earlier this year.
