It is with extraordinary grief that we share the passing of Janelle Lee Bailey Palmer, who died in her Idaho Falls, Idaho home on Thursday March 13, 2025, aged 36, of a spontaneous coronary artery dissection.

Janelle was born in Midland, Texas to Richard and Sandra Bailey. She spent a short time as an infant in Barnwell, Alberta, Canada. The majority of her childhood was spent in Klamath Falls, Oregon with her three siblings; Kim, Nathan and Brian.

She graduated from Henley High School as class valedictorian, but her life-long distinction was her ability to draw people in with her innate kindness and warmth. She truly was a friend to all.

In the years following high school, Janelle received her Associate’s Degree from BYU-Idaho. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Janelle served a mission to Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Following her mission, Janelle earned a BS and Master’s Degree from BYU in Communication Disorders. She worked as a Pediatric Speech Pathologist at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, a fulfilling job that led to a blind date with Shane Palmer, who won Janelle’s heart.

Shane and Janelle were married on July 14, 2018, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Janelle’s greatest joy was in her motherhood and she and Shane were blessed with four beautiful children, a fulfillment of Janelle’s most earnest dream. Janelle will be deeply missed by her husband and children, her family, her friends, and the many lives that she touched in her time on earth.

Janelle is survived by her loving husband Shane, her children Bailey, James, Louisa and Clara, her parents Richard and Sandra Bailey of Klamath Falls, Oregon, her siblings Kim (Nick) Barney of Grant, Idaho, Nathan (Alisa) Bailey of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Brian (Kay Sea) Bailey of Klamath Falls, Oregon, her parents-in-law Mike and Kerry Palmer of Moreland, Idaho, and her grandparents Henry and Jean Davis of Provo, Utah. Janelle is preceded in death by her grandparents Junior C and Jean Bailey.

Janelle’s memory will be especially cherished by her 20 nieces and nephews, to whom she was like a second mother, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a viewing Friday, March 21, from 5 pm to 8 pm, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue, Blackfoot, Idaho. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 11 am, with a viewing prior, beginning at 9 am, at the Idaho Falls North Stake Center 955 Memorial Drive. The interment will follow the funeral at the Moreland Idaho Cemetery.
