Andrea Olson
Andrea is a reporter with EastIdahoNews.com and started with the company in June 2021.
She is originally from the Seattle area. She interned at KIRO 7 Eyewitness News and Q13 Fox News, shadowing reporters, photographers, editors, producers and writers.
Andrea graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2013 with a communication degree. She was a transfer student from Bellevue College in Washington.
In 2014, Andrea got her first job in television at NBC Montana in Missoula. She spent two years in Montana as a reporter, fill-in anchor and producer.
She then moved to Spokane, Washington, to work at KHQ Local News as a TV reporter and producer. She spent nearly three years there.
In 2019, Andrea took a short break from the news to explore the world and joined Alaska Airlines as a customer service agent. She flew to a lot of different destinations but her favorite places included Disney World in Orlando, as well as Savannah, Georgia, and Chicago.
When Andrea moved back to Idaho in 2021 for her job at EastIdahoNews.com, she reconnected with her now-husband, Tyler. She had known him for eight years and met him originally at BYU-Idaho.
Andrea is thrilled to be here and part of the East Idaho News team.
When Andrea isn’t at work, she loves to spend time with her husband, explore, ski in the winter and eat cookies!
