Daniel V. Ramirez

Daniel V. Ramirez, formerly a reporter at the Post Register, joins the EastIdahoNews.com team as a multimedia journalist.

Daniel was born in Idaho Falls, where he graduated from Skyline High School in 2017. He later attended the College of Southern Idaho, where he graduated with his associate degree and made the jump north to the University of Idaho.

Daniel started his journalism career at the University of Idaho, where he worked at the university's paper, The Argonaut. There, he worked on numerous topics like COVID-19, university or Moscow city news, and other beats. During his senior year, Daniel was a part of the student news staff that reported on the quadruple homicide case in which four University of Idaho students were murdered. Daniel provided vital content for the students and residents of Moscow following the arrest of Bryan Kohberger, a Washington man accused of slaying the four students.

In the summer of 2023, Daniel became an intern with the Voces of Idaho Internship, which placed him at the Idaho Statesman. Voces is an internship that strives to place Latin journalists in newsrooms around Idaho. At the Statesman, Daniel continued his coverage of Kohberger and covered news around the Treasure Valley.

After his internship ended, Daniel moved back to his hometown, where he started at the Post Register in September 2023. During his tenure at the paper, Daniel worked on many topics, including courts, local city governments and water curtailment.
