David Pace

David Pace is excited to join the EastIdahoNews.com team as an editor/reporter. Previously, he worked at the Post Register as the senior reporter covering local politics, education, Idaho National Laboratory and community events in Idaho Falls. He began his professional journalism career in Rexburg writing for the Upper Valley Standard Journal.

David comes from an incredible family of six with three beautiful sisters and loving parents. The Idaho Falls native graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 2007. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves as an Administrative Specialist in the 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance, 4th Marine Division from 2012 to 2017. He was also awarded the Army Achievement Medal while serving as an Arabic cryptologiclinguist in the Utah National Guard.

David graduated from Brigham Young University in 2017 with a B.A. in communications, public relations emphasis, and a double minor in Middle East Studies and Business Management. He studied at Saïd Business School at Oxford University, participating in the Oxford Seminar on Social Innovation, Responsible Entrepreneurship and Ethical Leadership in 2014 and returning for the Oxford Conference on Business and Poverty in 2015 and 2019. He served a full-time mission in Rome, Italy, where he and his companion assisted the people of L’Aquila for five months following a devastating 6.3 earthquake in 2009.

He also worked as an area relations intern in the Public Affairs Department for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2016 to 2017, analyzing country newsroom sites for 80 nations in 30 languages and preparing press kits for five temple open houses in Sapporo, Japan; Philadelphia; Hartford, Connecticut; Fort Collins, Colorado; and Star Valley, Wyoming. David is an Eagle Scout. He interned for a U.S. senator and founded the Wheelbarrow Corps, a nonprofit organization that provided curbside recycling in Idaho Falls.
