Mike Price
Hello, my name is Mike, and I will be your tour guide on this journey through, well, my life.
To begin, if you look to your left (don't actually look to your left; this is me attempting to make a bad joke), you will see my childhood. As you can see, I spent most of it in Shelley, Idaho. My favorite past time as a child was reading. The first novel I ever read was "The Hobbit."
Now, if you will please look to your right (if you looked to your right and are now feeling silly, don't worry -- I won't tell anyone), you will see the brief years I spent in England attending middle school.
My experiences in England were paramount in making me who I am today. There I experienced learning and culture in a way so very different than what I would have experienced here in Idaho.
Straight on ahead (just tell me if I'm taking this too far) are my four years of high school back in good old Shelley, Idaho.
In high school, I played football, wrestled and dabbled in some high school theater.
After high school and then two years in Honduras my wife, Ally, and I were married in May 2013. Then, to our great joy in July 2014, our daughter Izzy was born.
Throughout our marriage, I've been attending Brigham Young University-Idaho. I studied political science for the first two years until I realized it just wasn't the right fit for me. After much soul searching I decided to switch to communication where I joined the BYU-I Scroll newspaper.
I finally found my calling, which I have pursued ever since. Now, after interning and then freelancing at EastIdahoNews.com, I'm a full-time reporter here. I have come to really enjoy working with this team. And look forward to my future here.
Everyone has a story that deserves to be told. I hope to be the one to tell that story.
