Barbara Dorine Hill, 82, a long-time resident of Idaho Falls, passed away on August 17, 2024, at a memory care facility in Tucson, Arizona.

Born on March 1, 1942, in Missoula, Montana, to Fred and Hilda Bader. After high school, Barbara met the love of her life, Larry, while she was working in the bakery at a Buttrey Food Store. Larry and Barbara were married on December 10, 1961, and later had their love solemnized and sealed for eternity in the LDS Temple. Their love for each other lasted their whole lifetime until Larry was taken suddenly in 2015. In 1967, they moved from Missoula to Idaho Falls, and built their life there. Barbara worked at and retired from Argonne, INL. It was there that Barbara met and grew a wonderful friendship with the other women that worked there. The antics that these women shared was the highlight of the lunchroom with all the people who were around. Many laughs and memories were shared by them all. Larry and Barbara had two children, Rick and Robin Rae and later on, the biggest blessing was their granddaughter Lacey Ann. If anyone knew Larry and Barbara, they knew Lacey. The spent all their spare time with her and Lacey’s friends from the neighborhood. Larry and Barbara were definitely known as the FUN grandparents! From hot tub bubble bath parties to all the sleepovers, to the hamburgers every weekend from Wendy’s.

After Larry and Barbara retired, they enjoyed winters in Tucson with Rick and Jaci playing countless hours of golf and attending University of Arizona basketball games. Go Wildcats! Barbara and her sister, Pat were especially close. There were many trips to Missoula to visit family and attend their class reunions together. They have shared many cherished memories in the last 82 years.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Pat (Joe) Stauduhar Missoula Montana; son, Rick (Jaci) Hill, of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Robin (Abe) Abrahamson; granddaughter, Lacey (Chayne) Lamper; and her beautiful great grandchildren, Liam, Avery and Hayley.

A graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
