They had four children, Lorena Lee, Shirley Rae, Sherril Kae and Perry James Brewster (aka Rusty). Bonnie and her children moved back to SLC in 1968. Perry joined her at a later date and together they purchased a house in Sugarhouse in 1971. In 1978 Bonnie and Perry divorced. Bonnie remained livin in Sugarhouse and she began working at the University of Utah in the testing center. She met James Hill while working there and they married in 1983. Bonnie and Jim started a piano tuning business and expanded their business tuning route to included Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, Idaho. Together they traveled tuning, restoring and preparing pianos and organs until 2019. During this time, in 2002 they purchased a home in Roberts, ID to be closer to their children and grandkids. They retired from their tuning route in 2019 after moving to Elko, NV. As Covid was starting to spread in 2020, they relocated to Idaho Falls to live with their daughter Sherril and son in law Tom. Her husband Jim passed away 9/30/2022. Bonnie continued to live with Sherril and Tom until her passing.

As a young girl, Bonnie loved music. She first learned to play the trumpet, then the cornet. After she married Jim, he helped her learn how to play the flute, and the baby base. Bonnie shared her love of music. She provided private music lessons and instuments not only to her children, but grandchildren as well. She took great pride in their accomplisments. Bonnie attended church frequently with her children. She taught Sunday School and enjoyed sharing her faith with others. She also was a den mom for Cub Scouts while her son Rusty was attending. Bonnie and Jim shared their love of music with several churches as they traveled to different areas on their tuning route. Bonnie loved family gatherings and would frequently host holiday dinners. Jim would cook and she would set the table with her favorite gold flatware and Cape Cod plates and glasses. The bigger their family grew the busier she became tying quilts for new babies, and sewing robes and western shirts. She made Raggity Ann and Andy dolls frequently for her children and grandchildren. She also knitted several stocking hats and headbands for cold winter days. Several of her western shirts and dolls were entered in county fairs where she was sure to win blue ribbons. She would attach the winning ribbon to the items she made and would give them to special people in her life. Her finally sewing project was a robe she made for her oldest daughter Lori during the time of Covid in 2021. She struggled to understand the pattern due to age related dimentia. However, she did not give up and it turned out beautifully. Bonnie loved animals. She always had a dog she rescued from “the pound.” Over the years she had cats, doves, turtles, hamsters, gerbals, and guinea pigs. She shared her love of animals with her children and grandchildren teaching them “all animals were God’s creation and should be loved and cared for.”
