Brenda Pearl Wilding Summers left this world on September 10, 2024 to find a better fishing spot.

Brenda was the 4th child born to Wallace Wilding and Hannah Pearl Fullmer. In June of 1965 she married her sweetheart Neldon LaVar Summers for all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. They welcomed 7 children into their home and then added 3 more to complete their family.

Over the years Brenda mentored and nurtured more boys than we can count through 30 years in the scouting program. She earned many Eagle Scout awards vicariously through these boys. Brenda served in many callings in the church. She loved serving in the temple and looked forward to the new friends she had met there. Brenda will be missed by the children of her ward as they met her in the library every Sunday after class so they can visit the Candy Grandma and get a treat.

Brenda was taught to work hard by her parents and she put many hours in as a church custodian which allowed her to teach her children how to work alongside her.

Brenda is survived by her spouse LaVar, daughter Vonell (Daren) Terry, Kevin (Stacy), Kim (Penny), Kirk (Shellie), Kelly (Danielle), Christine (Steve) McCain, Jake (Allison), Tyler (Katie), Harry Cottrell Jr.

Siblings, Blair (Philline) Wilding, Patricia (Larry) Christensen, Ronda Coombs, Glade (Penny) Wilding. She has a great posterity of 47 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren with three on the way.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and a son Doug Cottrell.

Graveside services will be held September 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the West Jefferson Cemetery as per her wishes. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the West Jefferson Senior Center.
