Obituary
Carol Chavez
June 23rd, 1951 - March 4th, 2025
Carol Ann Chavez (Davis) was reunited with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. She passed away while in hospice care surrounded by her loved ones.
Carol was born on June 23, 1951, in Kemmerer, WY, the daughter of Lewis Grant and Thelma Ray Davis. Carol was a small town, girl who loved horses, long country drives, singing, dancing, and painting. But the thing that she loved the most was her family. She would move mountains to be at her children’s and her grandchildren’s events.
She had the biggest heart and always accepted those around her with open arms. There was no such thing as a stranger. Once she met you, you were family. Carol was strong in her faith and loved Heavenly Father and lived her life looking for ways to serve others. She had a deep love for the Hispanic culture and community, and loved to translate, mediate, and help out whenever she could. Over the course of her life, she volunteered at the women’s crisis center and worked as a CNA taking care of the disabled and elderly. She knew what it meant to serve others selflessly and without expectations. We will miss her warm hugs, beautiful blue eyes, and laughter. She truly was one of a kind.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Cele) Chavez of Saint Anthony, Idaho; Rudy (Krista) Lopez of Boise, Idaho; Melissa Lopez of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Anita (Ruben) Johnson-Salas of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Marcy Chavez of Idaho Falls Idaho; 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, as well as many adopted children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Connie Davis of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Robert (Ruby) Davis of Missouri; Linda (Carlos) Watts of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Jo Dee Davis of Pennsylvania; and William Davis of Missouri. She is proceeded in death by her parents Lewis Grant and Thelma Ray Davis of Wilford Idaho and her sister Lois Davis, of Blackfoot, Idaho.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilford LDS Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, in the evening from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., both times at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
