Obituary
Carol Huffaker
August 11th, 1952 - March 24th, 2025
Carol Lee Huffaker, 72, passed away on March 24, 2025, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born on August 11, 1952, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Carol lived a life marked by devotion-to her faith, her family, and the many passions that brought her joy. Carol was a woman of deep commitment, unwavering integrity, and boundless kindness. She was fiercely independent, wise beyond measure, and had a generous heart that touched the lives of countless friends and family members. When she gave her word, it was as good as done. Her organized and professional nature made her a dependable presence in the lives of those around her. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and loved– whether through a warm hug, a thoughtful letter, or simply by being present with an open heart.
She was raised in Mountain Home, Idaho. Carol was the salutatorian of her high school class and put herself through Boise State College, paying her own way with hard work and determination. She built a remarkable career in the computer programming world, rising to the top at Kaiser Permanente and Nike. Her intelligence, persistence, and dedication paved the way for her success, and she took great pride in her accomplishments.
Carol had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel the world, especially to the Oregon Coast, where she shared treasured moments with her nieces, her sister Sharon, and brother-in-law Dave.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carol faithfully served in every calling she received, including as a home-visiting teacher and in the temple. She was a caretaker by nature–selflessly looking after others, including her mother in her final years. Carol’s acts of service were done quietly and without expectation, a true testament to her generous and loving spirit.
She was a distributor for DoTerra and ASEA, always eager to help others improve their lives. Her kindness extended far and wide, as she built lasting friendships and found fulfillment in uplifting those around her.
Carol’s creativity and love for beauty were evident in everything she did. She had a passion for decorating, ensuring her home was filled with festive joy for every holiday. Flowers, especially sunflowers, were a special love of hers. Whether fresh, artificial, or crafted with her own hands, they brightened every space she touched.
She was the keeper of family memories and photographs, preserving not only images but the stories behind them so future generations would remember where they came from. Her phone calls were filled with warmth and laughter, her hugs unmatched in their comfort, and her presence was a steady anchor for those lucky enough to call her family or friend.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her brothers, David Huffaker ( & Linda) and Michael Huffaker ( & Cheryl); her sister Sharon Huffaker Oar ( & Dave Oar); nieces Jessi and Becky; and nephews Jason and Matthew.
Though she is now reunited with her beloved parents, Enid and David Huffaker, in eternal peace, the legacy she leaves behind continues to bloom in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Though Carol may no longer walk among us, she remains alive in every memory shared at the gatherings she helped create, in every flower blooming in springtime gardens like hers, and in every small act of kindness that carries forward her spirit of generosity. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her and continue to inspire love, faithfulness, and joy for years to come.
Services to honor Carol’s life will be held later this summer in Wendell, Idaho, a time and place will be announced by her brother Dave Huffaker.
