Catherine Elizabeth Zahrn Schroeder passed away at her home on December 1, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Cathy was born in Burley, Idaho, to Ronald Lewis Zahrn and Patty Lou Reed (Grindrod) on June 7, 1960.

She left behind a significant amount of belongings for her husband and children, who are unsure of how to handle it all. If you are looking for a collection of books without a specific genre, an abundance of Christmas lights to brighten the night sky, ceramics, and various knick-knacks that would fill a decent-sized she-shed, please reach out after the appropriate amount of time has passed. Tomorrow would be fine.

This is not an ad for a local garage sale, but rather an obituary for a remarkable woman, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Cathy leaves behind her family, whom she loved more than anything in the world.

Cathy attended school in Rexburg, Idaho, where she lived with her family for several years. Early in her life, Cathy was blessed with two daughters. She then met the love of her life, Jeff Schroeder, in 1982, and they were married on July 8, 1983. The family was complete with the addition of a son and a daughter.

Cathy loved to fish, camp, and golf, and she was even happier when her grandchildren were with her. She was a wonderful cook, always excited to try new recipes that she created (most of which were delicious). One of her favorite cooking pastimes was making apple crisp with her beloved grandchildren. Cathy will be greatly missed and will always be remembered.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Jeff Schroeder; her children, Questie Barker, Molly Jensen, Dwyre Schroeder, and Mallory Schroeder; 4 amazing bonus kids she was so happy chose her children to share their lives with, her 11 wonderful grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and another on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda Hess, Scott Zahrn, Danny Zahrn, Amy Archibald, Jami Greathouse, and Mike Reed, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, David Zahrn; her grandson, Mitchell Hansen; and both of her parents, all of whom she loved dearly.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Bert Flamm Mortuary, located at 581 E 1st N, St. Anthony, Idaho. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Cathy would have preferred donations made in her honor to PanCan, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, or to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, specifically for patient travel purposes.
