Cheryl Jean Lyman Burrup, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Center. She was under the care of Brio Hospice.

Chery was born on May 3, 1949, in Rigby, Idaho to Deraine Edison Lyman and Deoine Lena Weber Lyman. She grew up in the Grant and Osgood area. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School.

On January 12, 1990, she married Jerrald “Jerry” Edward Burrup Jr. in Elko, Nevada. Jerry passed away on November 2, 2017. They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Cheryl worked at Riverside Hospital until Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center was built and she transferred there between the two hospitals, she worked in the medical industry as a cafeteria worker for 35 years.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cheryl was always willing to help others and went out of her way to make people feel good about themselves. She always had a hello and a big smile for everyone.

Cheryl enjoyed crocheting, reading, going for drives, and visiting with friends and family.

She is survived by her sister, Marcia Gayle Lyman Belcher of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her brothers: Gregory Deraine (Valerie) Lyman of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Blair Kay Lyman of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Dale William (Mary) Lyman of Rexburg, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrald “Jerry” Edward Burrup Jr.; her father, Deraine Edison Lyman; her mother, Deoine Lena Weber Lyman; and her brother, Gale John Lyman.
