Clifford Brady

Clifford Anthony Brady Jr. passed away July 27th 2024 at Fairwinds Senior Living Center under the care of Alliance Home Health & Hospice following a stroke in January 2024.

Cliff was born to Cliff and Eula Brady in Cheyenne Wyoming in 1932 where his father managed a Pigley Wigley grocery store. When Cliff was 8 months they returned to Boise, Idaho. Cliff attended St Joseph’s Boys School and St. Theresa’s High School and graduated early in 1951. He was in the Naval Reserve and took a discharge to join the Air Force. His unit was ordered to Valdosta Ga. and was later stationed at Moody Air Force Base in California. Following his discharge from his Military Service he went home to Boise, Idaho where he attended Boise State Jr College for a year. In 1954 Cliff married Lorayne Nolz of Boise Idaho and started his family and had 6 children 5 boys and 1 daughter. They were later divorced in 1979.

Cliff started his career at Beneficial Finance and moved his family to several locations in Idaho. In 1963 Cliff aspired to become an entrepreneur and began his own business doing vacuum sales door to door. He moved his family to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1965 and is the Founder of Brady’s Inc. He started with a Vacuum shop on Northgate Mile. He added Sewing Machines and Water Softeners to his business and moved to a larger location. Cliff was always looking for additional products to accommodate his community and expand his business. He added Hot Tubs, Fitness equipment and many other products to. This expanded Brady’s and they moved to the 5th location on Lincoln Road.

Cliff met his soulmate Ruth Millar Bever and married the love of his life in 1981. They blended their families and began their loving journey of life together. They traveled to Europe, South America and many other amazing locations including years of travel to Cancun Mexico, summers in Star Valley Ranch Wyoming, winters in St. George Utah enjoying their retirement among friends & family. So many cherished memories.

Cliff’s philosophy was always “How can I give back to the community in which I live” He became active in the Chamber of Commerce where he served as the President in 1983-84. He served on many committees in his community such as Economic Development & Education for EITEC now CEI. He was on the Business, Technical and Foundation Boards of EITEC. He helped establish the Innovation Center in a basement room at EITEC. He initiated the idea of moving the 4th of July fireworks to Keefer Island and was instrumental in the planning & fundraising for the Aquatic Center and was active in the YMCA. Working with Jack Viggers they started the senior program thru EISSA and served as President for 7 years. He lobbied and worked to establish EIRMC, started the Better Business Bureau in Idaho Falls, was active in Arts and was on the Symphony Board for many years serving as President in 1987. With the help of the Arts community, he aided the restoration and renovation of the Colonial Theatre. Brady’s has been participating in the Eastern Idaho State Fair for 61 years.

Cliff established his business, Brady’s, based on the motto “Buy where the Service is”. It was his core belief to support his community and Family and stand behind the products that built his business.

Cliff always had a story to share and a joke to tell. He is sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Ruth, son Steve(Kari) Brady of Idaho Falls, daughter Terry (Dave) Clifford of Idaho Falls, sons John (Ritzko) Brady of Aliso Viejo, California, Brad (Jeanie) Brady of Buhl, Idaho, Clifford III (Deon) Brady of Idaho Falls, James (Nancy) Brady of Sioux Falls South Dakota, stepson Larry (Denise) Markeson of Seattle, Washington, and stepdaughter Karla (Wayne) Keller of Fort Smith, Arkansas, 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends and Cliff adored spending time with them all.

He was preceded in death by his father Clifford A. Brady, his mother Eula Berry Brady, sister Patricia Hartwell, and grandson Joshua Clifford.

Rosary will be Thursday, August 8, at Buck-Murphy Funeral Home, 5:30 pm with visitation following. Funeral services will be Friday, August 9, 10:30 at Christ The King Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.BuckMurphy.com.
