Darren Sponseller

Darren Sponseller, of Roberts, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2024 in Rexburg, Idaho at the age of 53.

Born on December 14, 1970, in Hermiston, Oregon. Darren was the son of Marilyn Salem and Dennis Sponseller. He grew up in Stanfield, Oregon and graduated from Stanfield High School in May of 1989. Growing up he developed a deep love for the land, a strong sense of family, and community. Darren learned early on the value of hard work and generosity, qualities that defined his life.

At the age of 18, Darren became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He later married his sweetheart, Christine Cook, on November 16, 1990 in the Portland, Oregon LDS temple. He served in several church callings with the Nursery being his favorite. He carried an extremely strong but quiet testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ. He loved sharing his passions with his kids which included farming, gun collecting, parachute planes, and traveling.

A lifelong farmer, Darren dedicated his life to cultivating the land and providing for his family. His farm was not just a livelihood but a testament to his commitment and perseverance to his values. Known for his unwavering work ethic, Darren took pride in every harvest and was always eager to share the fruits of his labor with others. The value and gift of hard work is something he insisted on instilling in his children. He was deeply generous and giving, often helping friends and neighbors, sharing meals, or offering support. His life was truly a reflection of his beliefs, and he left a legacy of kindness and compassion.

Darren will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Darren is survived by his Wife, Christine Sponseller of Roberts, Idaho, Sons, Jayden (Abbi) Sponseller of Santaquin, Utah, Triston (Callie) Sponseller of Roberts, Idaho, Taylor (Nikki) Sponseller of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mckade Sponseller of Roberts, Idaho; Daughter, Hope Sponseller of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mother, Marilyn Salem; Step Father, Salem G. Salem; Sister, Krista Price; Brother, Cameron Sponseller; and 6 Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Father Dennis Sponseller.

A Celebration of life will be held on his farm Monday, September 16, at 11:00 AM at 346 N 2900 E Roberts, Idaho 83444. Preceding the service, a viewing will be held at 9:30 AM to 10:45.
