Obituary
Dee Martin
April 7th, 1945 - April 8th, 2025
Dee Martin 80, formally of Ammon, ID passed away peacefully April 8, 2025, in Silverton, Oregon.
Dee was born April 7, 1945, in Idaho Falls, ID to Donna Dayley and Dee Martin Sr. Dee spent his early years in Idaho at Grandpa’s farm getting into all kinds of mischief with his many beloved cousins. He was from an army family. Along with his much-loved brothers and sisters, Michele, LeeAnn, Kelly, and Brian, he lived in many states and Germany. This gave him the ability to talk to anyone, anywhere. They all had very interesting experiences.
Dee wore many hats in his lifetime: surfer, hippie, rock musician, author, pianist, salesman, property manager, and much more. Dee was a storyteller, dad joke teller, pianist, and coach of his kid’s soccer and baseball teams. He had fun participating in local musical productions with his kids.
Dee and Mikki met in Eugene, Oregon and were married in 1977. Theirs is an eternal family. The most important role in his life was that of being a father to Tyler, Zach, KD, Jake, Kim, and Isaac. He was so proud of his kids and loved them with every fiber of his being. He loved his grandchildren Carsten, Addison, London, Emily, Desmond, and Ophelia. Pop regrets that he won’t be here to see you all grow up.
Dee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many positions including Bishop of Ammon 2nd ward, Sunday school teacher, scout leader, and many other stake and ward callings. His favorite, however, was primary pianist. He loved the kids.
Dee was an honorable man who loved his family, loving husband, father and grandfather with a quick wit. He fought the hard battle and endured to the end.
We as a family would like to thank our family and friends who have been there for us at this difficult time. A special thanks to Alan Batt who showed us how we could be an eternal family. We love you, Dee, and miss you terribly, but we know we will all be together again.
A service will be held in Dee’s honor at a later date in Ammon, Idaho.
