Dorothy Jane Carter Hartwell
June 3rd, 1937 - November 21st, 2024
Dorothy Jane Grover Carter Hartwell, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at The Gables of Ammon. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
Dorothy was born on June 3, 1937, in Archer, Idaho to Clifford Grover and Isabelle Browning Grover. She grew up in Archer, Mud Lake, Lincoln, and Idaho Falls.
On April 6, 1954, she married Richard Carter in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They later divorced. In 1986, she married George Hartwell.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was proud of all her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Guy (Marylin) Carter of Pocatello, Idaho, Greg (Cheryl) Carter of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Kelly (Laura) Carter of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Tami (Kevin) King of Firth, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Hartwell Sr., siblings, and three stepchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends and family one hour prior to services.
