Durand Simpson
June 6th, 1979 - October 9th, 2022
Durand Douglas Simpson, 43, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 9, 2022, at his home.
Durand was born June 6, 1979, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Douglas B Gray and Donna Marie Simpson. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School. He also attended culinary school.
On May 17, 2014, he married Leah Karin Raffetto in Idaho Falls. Durand worked in the construction industry as a Jack of all Trades, and an amazing stay at home dad.
Durand was a Christian. He enjoyed cooking, and collecting antiques and baseball cards. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was an incredible father who loved his kids, and cherished any time spent with them. They called him D Best Friend.
Durand is survived by his loving wife, Leah Simpson of Idaho Falls, ID; children Sadie Long of Idaho Falls, ID, Peyton Ward of Idaho Falls, ID, and, Julia Ward of Idaho Falls, ID; siblings, Heather Fohrenck of Idaho Falls, ID, Tina (Patrick) Salois of Great Falls, MT, and Dustin (Veronica) Gray of Idaho Falls, ID; father, Douglas B Gray of Idaho Falls, ID, step-mother, Verline Gray of Idaho Falls, ID, and mother, Donna Marie Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Tate and Beth Gray, and grandfather, Sonny Morris.
A gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
