Earl Junior White, 85, of Menan, ID passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 11, 2024.

Earl was born December 12, 1938 in Shelley, ID to Earl George and Effie (Russell) White. He grew up in Shelley and Idaho Falls. Earl followed in his father’s footsteps and learned mechanics. He worked at Stoddard Ford Motor Company for several years. In 1958, he married Ruth Carol Ward, having five beautiful children. After that marriage ended, he met Polly Ann Parmer, who had five children. Earl and Polly married in 1972. A few years later, they moved to the Oregon Coast, living in Junction City and Florence. He managed A.R.A. Automotive Air Conditioning in Eugene, OR until moving to Florence, where he worked for Johnston Motor Company. After an illness that brought on early retirement, he and Polly moved to Menan, where Polly grew up.

One of Earl’s favorite things to do was go out on the ocean fishing, whether he caught anything or not. He just loved being on the ocean. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time in Island Park, ID as often as possible. Pinochle and rummy tiles were some of his favorite games–everyone always wanted to be his partner. He also enjoyed dancing, teasing family and friends, and serving others. Earl was happiest when family would visit. He loved every one of his children and grandchildren, speaking of their accomplishments and bragging about them whenever opportunity arose. He was willing to help anyone in need, even if it meant giving up his own wants.

Earl was a member of Grange in both North Fork Grange, Florence, Oregon and York Grange 253 in Idaho Falls. He enjoyed participating in the legislative process of Grange and felt he was helping make a difference. The friends he gained in the process were important to him. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various capacities and gaining friends along the way. His testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ was strengthened over his lifetime and was important to him.

Surviving is his wife, Polly Ann (Parmer) White, sisters: Marilyn Lafrance, Dorothy Bischoff, and Deona (John) Gonzales, daughters: Patricia (David) Bergeson, Sandy (Jerry) Sollender, Barbara (Rob) Trolson, and Heidi (Mark) Denney, sons: Greg (Tic) Medley, Terry (Rocksann) Ricks, Larry White, and Tracy (Rose) White, 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ray, Ronnie, and Leon, sisters: Vera, Lorraine, Vyonne, Lujuanna, and Jeanette, and daughters: Tracy Lynn and Debbie.

Services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel on Menan-Lorenzo Hwy in Menan, ID. Friends and family are welcome for a viewing Friday evening from 6-7:30pm at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby and at 10am Saturday morning at the church before the funeral services begin. Interment following the funeral services will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelley, ID.
