Elda Darlene Smith age, 72 passed away peacefully in her home in Idaho falls, Idaho, June 26,2024 with her loving husband by her side. Due to health complications.

Darlene or known as Dar was born in Rexburg Idaho to Frank H. Flint and Elda M. Moon Flint.

She attended school in Egin Idaho where she grew up on the family farm. Later attending and graduating from Idaho Falls High School. Then moving on to Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in social work from Idaho State University.

Darlene was known for her kindness and helping others which shown brightly in her career working with adults with Disabilities. She was always there with a listening ear and ready to serve the best way she knew how.

Everyone close to her has a crocheted item from one of her favorite past times of crocheting. Lovingly thinking of that individual with every loop. Gladly teaching, guiding to the daughters or granddaughters who also took up the hobby.

Darlene and her soul mate David Smith married in Ucon, Idaho February 1,1991 Later sealed in the Church of Latter-day Saints temple in Rexburg Idaho.

They have shared 34 years of building a life for them and their children in the Idaho falls, ID area.

Darlene is survived by her adoring husband David S. Smith, her three children Misty Aughenbaugh, Timothy FlintSmith , Joylene Hudson.

Her adoptive daughter Eilzabeth Avila, David and Darlene’s 13 grandchildren,18 Great Grandchildren and her youngest Sister Charlene Turnage

Sisters Donna Flint, Linda Flint Child, Doreen Allen and Brother Dan Flint.

Proceeded in death her parents, oldest sister Dora Christine Jacobs, two brothers, two adoptive daughters

Julie Walter White and Christin Archer Caldwell.

She was greatly loved and missed even more by all the lives she has touched.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time.
