Gaye Ellen Weekes, of Shelley, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 30, 2024.

She was born to Marjorie and Jack Veeneman on March 5, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Gaye lived for family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, wife and friend. Gaye loved children, animals and laughter.

In her early days working and living in Reno, Nevada, in the late seventies and early eighties. Her quick wit and outspoken personality endeared her to up and coming comedians who would later become famous, including Robin Williams, Gary Mule Deer, Tim Thomerson, George Wallace and Harry Anderson.

In 1985 she returned to her hometown of Idaho Falls, glad to be back amongst family and old friends. She married the love of her life, Dan Weekes, on July 6,1991, and enjoyed the best years of her life with him.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kemp Sargis; brother, Jim Veeneman; and parents, Marge and Jack Veeneman.

She is survived by her husband, four sons, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister and brother, and one niece and three nephews. She will be greatly missed!

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.
