After a long and valiant battle with breast cancer, and despite the best efforts of the staff at EIRMC, Heather’s frail body finally gave in. She passed early Sunday morning with her daughter Kaylee Ann Richardson, her sister Andi Anderson, and her husband of 37 years, Kerry Richardson, at her side.

She is survived by two additional sisters: Becky Pratt of Lima, Ohio, and Geri Scrogham of Boise, Idaho, as well as three grandsons and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Heather was born in Lima, Ohio in 1964 to Mary Ann and Walter Grant, both of whom, along with her big brother, Lewis Grant preceded her in death.

In August of 1984, she demonstrated her level of compassion and married her high school sweetheart, Kerry Richardson. Three years later, on Christmas Eve, she delivered the best Christmas present ever, her only child, Kaylee Ann.

Heather fought with everything she had, but after better than a year of chemo and radiation treatments, her body was just too weak.

Heather was a compassionate woman with a thirst for life. She liked horseback riding, enjoying the scenery on long drives, visiting new places, being around animals, crocheting, gardening, and visiting with friends, family, and especially her three grandsons. While she was a mother to one, she often took on the motherly role of several in her life. She had such a big heart and went to great lengths to help anyone in need.

For those who knew her, she will live on in our hearts and memories.

This is not a goodbye, but rather until we are together again.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the “Susan G. Koman” foundation online at https://www.komen.org.
