Helen Gay Solomon, age 93, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on June 24, 2024.

Gay was born May 19, 1931 in Leeton Utah. She is a daughter to Amos and Nellie (Jolley) Little. Gay attended school up to 10th grade. On January 11, 1951 Helen Gay Little married the love of her life, Charlie S. Solomon for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. With this wonderful marriage brought 6 children, David, Julie, Virginia (Ginny), Jeannette, Charles, and Timothy, a perfect balance of three girls and three boys.

During her work life years, she was first and foremost a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker and she also worked at the Idaho Falls Temple cafeteria, at the Ricks College Cafeteria and at ARTCO in Rexburg. Family always came first to her.

Gay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a solid testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and His Atonement. She and Charlie spent many hours in the Idaho Falls Temple performing temple work. She loved to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in the Relief Society, as Primary president, taught in the Primary, and served in the YWMIA as an MIA Maid advisor. In the early 90’s, Gay and Charlie served a mission to the Philippines. She was a member of the DUP (Daughters of the Utah Pioneers) and enjoyed the women there. She loved going to church and being with all her ward members and serving where she could.

She was well loved by all that knew her and brought humor and love to her family. She loved dancing and music and she and Charlie were involved with a Square Dance Club in their early years together. She enjoyed sewing, camping, crocheting, gardening, cooking, reading Louis L ’Amour books, and had a very green thumb. In her later years she loved to watch old Western TV shows and movies.

She is survived by her six children, David (Peggy) Solomon of Rigby, ID, Julie Parker (Doug) of Lewisville, Idaho, Virginia (David) Somerville of Challis, ID, Jeannette Solomon of Rexburg, Charles (Gayle) Solomon of Naples, Idaho, Timothy (Beverly) Solomon of Idaho Falls, Idaho, brother Bruce Little of Molalla, OR, 29 grandchildren, 112 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. Solomon, parents Amos Cleon and Nellie (Jolley) Little, siblings: Don, Amos, Chuck, June, Olive, LaCree and Mike, grandparents, great grandparents and three great grandchildren.
