James Vance Veazey

James Vance Veazey, Emporia, Kansas, died June 20, 2024, at his home. He was 82 years old.

James was born on May 15, 1942, in Denver, Colorado to Vance Russell and Bonnie June (Arrants) Veazey. He married Mary Givens on September 22, 1962, in Mammoth, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include sons Terry (Donna) Veazey, Manassas, VA; Robert (Leslie, in spirit) Veazey, Emporia, KS; brothers David Veazey, Independence, MO; John F. (Cheryl) Veazey, Linwood, KS; and sister Carolyn Jean (Doug, M.D.) Brown, Cherokee, KS.

Mr. Veazey held a Masters Degree in Secondary Education Administration and for 38 years, served his community as Teacher, Guidance Counselor, and Administrator in the states of Oklahoma, Kansas, Idaho, and Colorado. Upon retiring in 2006. Mr. Veazey continued to serve his community as a volunteer for Newman Regional Health Auxiliary, the Lyon County Sherriff Volunteer Patrol, and Meals on Wheels in Emporia, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Cremation is planned. Roberts-Blue-Barnett is assisting the family with arrangements.
