Janeil Brucks

Janeil Brucks, 82, of Rigby, passed away December 31, 2024, at Temple View Transitional Care Center in Rexburg, Idaho.

Janeil was born November 28, 1942, in Preston, Idaho, to Jink William Jones and Helen Norma (Jones) Jones. She grew up and attended schools in Salmon and Rigby and completed her education in Redlands, California.

On March 18, 1960, she married Roger David Brucks in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Janeil and Roger made their home in Rigby for a year, where Tammy was born. They ventured off to Southern California where Roger worked for a gunite swimming pool company. Danny joined the family. They loved the sunshine and worked hard. The opportunity to move to Massachusetts arose and they moved coast to coast. Roger started his own Pool Plastering Business and Janeil was his business manager taking care of calls and setting up appointments. Cindy and Paul completed their family. They lived in New England for 35 years and loved exploring the local sites. They returned to Rigby when Roger retired in 2005.

Janeil was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Roger loved serving the Lord in the Billerica Ward in Massachusetts. The members there were like family. Janeil served as the Primary President, Stake Primary President, Relief Society President, girls camp cook, home making leader, and temple worker in the Boston Temple. A highlight for Janeil was being asked to cook dinner for the general authorities at the Boston Temple dedication. Her favorite calling was teaching Sunbeams. She was a shining example of love to those around her. Janeil used her sewing skills to make beautiful quilts and cooking skills to help others try new foods. She especially loved the monthly cooking class she taught in the Rigby 5th Ward.

She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, ceramics, catering weddings, entertaining & parties, shopping, and an ice cold Diet Coke.

Janeil is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roger David Brucks of Rigby, ID; 4 children, 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She LOVED those babies!!

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Sandy Holder and Patricia Petersen; and her brother, Michael Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Rigby 5th Ward, 258 West 1st North, with Bishop Stowell officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery.
