Getting your Trinity Audio player ready ...

With incredible sadness we announce the tragic passing of our husband, father, brother, grandfather & uncle following 4 months of illnesses and treatments.

Jared was born in Rexburg Idaho and lived in Idaho Falls and Rigby thru his childhood. At 19 years old he left home to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For the next 2 years he served and loved the people in British Columbia & Alberta Canada. He loved his mission so much that he didn’t want to leave. In a way he didn’t.

After returning home for several months he was called back to Canada to help a another family. Then while traveling around visiting other towns he fell in love with a Canadian girl, marrying her and returning to live in Alberta for the next 12 years. Jared married Esther Tynan and together they had 3 children, Christopher, Steven, and Sarah.

Jared was a gifted handi-man and could repair anything. He had a mechanical mind. His lifelong work has been in this field. In 1994 Jared, bringing his family with him, returned to Idaho and started up a carpet cleaning company. That company morphed into maintenance work and became his focus. In his spare time he loved to fish and care for his animals. In fact he was given the nickname Noah because he was always adding to his collection for animals and working on his beloved acreage. His wife and his kids were his world. He was totally devoted to them and to his Lord and Savior. He had a deep spiritual well and his greatest desire was to learn of the Lord and love Him. He quietly served and cared for people. Never seeking attention unless he was giving the biggest bearhugs. He was a hugger and a gentle soul. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Esther and his children Chris Allen (Megan)of Idaho Falls, Steve Allen (Ashley) of Boise Idaho, Sarah Allen Lopez (Mauricio) of Los Lunas New Mexico, His 4 amazing grandchildren Kaydence, Lyla, Chelsea, Jaxson, and 2 more due in December and February.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 1st at 2pm in the LDS Stake center located at 3934 East 49th South in Ammon with a viewing from 1:00-1:45 prior to service. Bishop Bryce Taylor officiating. An additional viewing will be held Friday May 31st at Wood Funeral Home on Ammon Road from 6:30-8:00 pm.
