Obituary
Jeremy Bruce Richards
April 27th, 1984 - April 2nd, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeremy Bruce Richards, 40, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. He passed away April 2, 2025, due to an unfortunate fall at home, which led to brain swelling and unresponsiveness. Jeremy was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and after numerous tests was placed under the care of the ICU staff at EIRMC.
Jeremy was born April 27, 1984, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Bruce and Coy Richards. He was the baby of 4 children. He attended Bonneville High School and received a PEI Certificate later.
Jeremy loved to laugh. A true prankster at heart, he would do or say almost anything to elicit a laugh from people. He loved to be surrounded by smiles and strived to spread as many as he could. His infectious laugh and kind spirit touched countless lives. He always had a warm smile for anyone he met and made everyone feel special and included.
He was married from 2011-2024, which resulted in two beautiful children that were the light of his life. His sun rose and set for those two. He was extremely proud of both of them and constantly talked about how much he loved them. He often said his greatest joy was simply being their dad. The two constants in Jeremy’s world were his love for them and an unwavering desire to make sure they were well cared for. This love was his most proud accomplishment and legacy.
Jeremy was always ready to lend a hand. He loved to be helpful and would do what he could to lighten another’s burden. He loved horrible dad jokes, weird food challenges, odd music, and general mischief. He will be missed by those lucky enough to know him.
In his final act of kindness, he chose to be an organ donor. Because of this selfless act, his legacy will live on by helping those in need. This gift of life is a testament to his compassion and generosity. Though he is no longer with us, his memory and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. We hope as a family that his kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Jeremy is survived by his life partner, Becki Nielsen; children, Jarren and Skylee; mother, Coy Richards; siblings, Jennifer Richards, Jessica (Chad) Bateman, Melissa (Sunshine) Aguilar; nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Richards; maternal grandparents, Judy and Ray Ashment; and paternal grandparents, Grant and Barbara Richards.
A Celebration of Life will be held 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave, with words at 7 p.m.
