Jesusa Nieto Peña
September 5th, 1942 - October 7th, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jesusa Nieto Peña, 82. She passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, October 7, 2024.
She was born in Los Fresnos, Texas to Luis and Jesusa Nieto. She grew up in Texas until the age of 14 and then moved to Nevada where she graduated from Overton High School.
On January 16,1966, she married Eluterio Peña Jr. as they began to grow their family, they worked around the country in various states as migrant workers. They finally settled their roots in Shelley, Idaho around 1967. Jesusa found a job as a crew leader at Basic American Foods and retired in 2007.
Jesusa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devoted member of Pope Saint John Paul II Parish where she participated in Cursillo and the Guadalupanas. Her Catholic Faith played a major factor in her life, and she demonstrated love to all around her. With a smile on her face, she was always cooking and baking for her family and friends. She loved to play bingo whether it was a friendly game during a family party or a rare trip to Fort Hall.
She is survived by her husband Eluterio Peña Jr, her daughters Norma (Porfirio) Guerrero and Liza Marie (Armando) Juarez, her sons David Peña and Ruben Peña, eight grandchildren Esmeralda, Seqcora, Mikkayla, Diego, Amelia, Kaitlyn, Gabriel, Justin, Talisa and her seven great grandchildren, Santiago, Maribel, Mya, Aislinn, Abel, Allora, Finnleigh. Also her brother Luis Nieto Jr.
She is preceded in death by her son, Roy Peña, her parents, Luis and Jesusa Nieto, her brothers Ramon, Ramiro and Daniel Nieto, her sisters Lilia Nieto, Martha Ortiz and Victoria Alvarez.
