John was born December 23, 1951, in Ogden, Utah, to Seth Darrell and Mary Lou Foutz Reeder. John had a happy childhood with his older brother, Dan; younger brothers, Tom and David; and sister, Nancy. Visiting his grandparents and cousins was always a highlight.

John was a hard worker. He retired from INL after 29 years as a custodian. He continued to do custodial work for The Good Samaritan, Fairwinds, Idaho Falls Temple, and Dillard’s. He also owned a carpet cleaning business, and was well liked by all.

After his divorce he met and married Sherry Bowman on January 22, 2002. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in September 2005. They enjoyed traveling, going to movies, going on walks with their beloved dogs, Rizzy and Whylee, and visiting family.
