John Ivan Fenstermaker

John Ivan Fenstermaker died in peace on June 24, 2024 at the age of 78 years old in Pocatello, Idaho. He lived in the Garfield area in Jefferson County, Idaho and proudly resided there until the time of his death.

He was born on October 2, 1945 in Murray, Utah to Jack and Gladys Bills Fenstermaker. His career was spent as a lineman and substation foreman with Utah Power & Light Company for nearly 50 years. He also served in the Utah National Guard and Military Police from 1964-1969.

On August 29, 1969 he married the love of his life, June Lang, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They lived together in Sandy, Utah for a short time and happily moved to Garfield with their children, horses and cows.

Ike was a strong and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings throughout his life. He loved horses and the farm. On his happiest days, he could be found on one of his tractors. He loved horseback riding with his wife, June, and spending time with his family. He also loved visiting and spending time with his neighbors.

He is survived by June Lang Fenstermaker, his wife. Children Cheri (Kevin) Galloway of St. Anthony, Idaho, Trisha (Bryan) Flake of Prosper, Texas, Katy (Brent) Weight of Garfield, Idaho and John (Kristine) Fenstermaker of Pocatello, Idaho. His sisters are LaRue (Lee) Dumas of Midvale, Utah and Karen Watson of Grantsville, Utah. He has 15 living grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two granddaughters and one grandson.

A graveside service will be held at the Grant Central Cemetery on June 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM. All are welcome to attend. Casual dress is appropriate. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome@gmail.com
