John Joseph Noon,73, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 17, 2024, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. He was under the care of Solace Hospice.

John was born September 7, 1950, in Brooklyn ,New York, to William Noon and Marion Sauter Noon. he grew up and attended schools in New York and Virginia. He graduated from Smithtown Central High School in St. James New York in June 1968. He also attended the University of Lynchburg , in Lynchburg Virginia, graduating in June 1972, with a BS in Health and Physical Education .He graduated in May 1991, with an MBA in Business Administration.

On August 1,1992, he married Susan Templeton in Lynchburg Virginia where they lived before moving to Idaho. John taught health and physical education at Amherst Count High School from June 1973, through May 1980. In June of 1980, he took a security guard job for Babcock and Wilcox Navy Nuclear Fuel Division. his career took them to Idaho National Lab, Pantex in Texas, andLos Alamos National Lab in New Mexico, before retiring in April 2012.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 576, the Elk’s Lodge #1087, and the Rotary Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed taking epic road trips in his Miata.

John is survived by his wife, Susan Noon of Idaho Falls ,ID; daughter Devon (Kelly) Zimny; daughter, Lindsay (Josh) Stoddard; grandchildren Grayson Zimny, Dylan Zimny, Lila Stoddard, and Savannah Stoddard; and brothers James Noon and William Noon.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Noon, mother, Marion Noon, sister, Kathleen Baker, brother , Robert Noon.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Ammon Cemetery, 2550 East Sunnyside Rd. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Lung Society, or the American Heart Association.
