Joseph Prophet

November 21st, 1964 - March 31st, 2025

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready ...

Joseph Jay Prophet, 60, passed away on March 31, 2025, at his mother’s home in Idaho Falls.

Joe was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Richard Prophet and Aura-Lee Prophet-Pickerill. Joe lived a spirited life across California, Oregon, and Idaho, leaving memories in each place he called home.

He found brotherhood and joy in serving his communities as a dedicated member of the Elks and Moose Lodges in California and Oregon. As a certified CPR instructor, he took pride in teaching others lifesaving skills, a reflection of his generous spirit.

Joe had a deep love for 1980s music, with a playlist ready for any occasion and a quick wit that could turn any moment into laughter. He cherished his friends, his lodges, and the simple pleasures of good conversation.

He is survived by his mother, Aura-Lee Prophet-Pickerill; brother, Rick Prophet of North Fork, ID; sister, Annette Prophet-Rehn of Yuma, AZ; his 3 children, Adam Prophet, Danielle Prophet Hansen, and Mandy Prophet Thomas, all of Idaho Falls, ID.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Prophet.

The family extends special gratitude to the devoted Solace Hospice team-Stacie, Jordan, Katie, and others-whose kindness and professionalism brought comfort in Joe’s final days.

A Catholic Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church (1690 E. 17th St., Idaho Falls).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Elks National Foundation or Moose Charities in Joe’s memory.

“May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.”

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
