Karen Ann Taylor O’Connor
August 19th, 1956 - February 14th, 2022
Karen Ann Taylor O’Connor, 65, returned home to her loving Father in Heaven Monday, February 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Karen was born on August 18, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was the only daughter of John William Taylor and Virginia Brown. She had six brothers, five older and one younger. She grew up in a loving family who lived the Gospel. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1974
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of Jesus Christ was strong. She served many callings in Primary, Young Women, Sunday School, and Relief Society. Her favorite calling was teaching the children in Primary. She loved the children.
Karen married her eternal companion, Ronald Nathaniel O’Connor in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 9, 1974, when she was 17 years old. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had 8 children and 35 grandchildren with another on the way.
Karen was a stay at home mother and raised 8 wonderful children. She took care of her parents in their final years. She also helped care for her husband’s mother. She was a very caring person, and always put others ahead of herself. She loved her family, and always had candy available for the grandchildren. She will be missed.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, putting jigsaw puzzles together, watching cloud formations, and thunderstorms.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 of her brothers: John Lonnie Taylor, William Dean Taylor, Kay Warren Taylor, Duane Meikle Taylor; and one grandchild: Dominique Marie O’Connor.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years; her children: Ronald Nathaniel (Melanie) O’Connor Jr., Scott William (Toni) O’Connor, Timothy Clyde (Amanda) O’Connor, Christopher James (Lori) O’Connor, Virginia Terral (Josh) Liebe, Stephen Taylor O’Connor, Randall Brown O’Connor, and Amanda Katherine O’Connor; her brothers: Vern (LaNea) Taylor and David (Christine) Taylor; and 35 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Thunder Ridge 1st Ward, 4459 John Adams Parkway, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2022, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
