Kathleen C. Jensen
August 1st, 1944 - December 5th, 2024
Kathleen Clayton Jensen, died Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the age of 80, from heart and pulmonary complications.
Kathleen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 1, 1944, the second daughter of Mark T. Clayton and Dorothy Robinson Clayton. She was raised in Seattle, Washington, and earned a nursing degree from Brigham Young University. Kathleen felt her most important work was in her role as a homemaker.
On April 17, 1993, she married Vagn Harder Jensen in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Kathleen was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several capacities over the years. Her hobbies included playing the piano and organ, reading, sewing, and gardening.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shelia Yeates; and her husband, Vagn.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Ward (Kirk) of Rexburg, Idaho; and grandchildren, Spencer Ward, Josh Ward, Kaylee Greener (Bryson) and Jacob Ward; daughter, Elizabeth Hinson (Jeff) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Tyler Hinson, Holly Ferguson, Ashley Peck (Caleb Yonotti) and Kaitlyn Mobley (RJ Mobley); daughter, Sarah Hicks (John) of Florence, Alabama; and grandchildren, Lily Hicks and Emma Hicks; son, Jeremy Cox of Salt Lake City, Utah; and grandchildren, Tanner McDaniel (Shaylee), Jason McDaniel, Thatcher Cox and Camden Cox; step-daughters, Nia Marie, Kami and Wendelyn Jensen; and step-son, Shane Jensen; and a brother, Grant Clayton (Gail) of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Iona Cemetery. The family will visit with family and friends from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, Ammon, ID.
