Kennieth Niel Wood, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 16, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Kennieth was born January 25, 1950, in Driggs Idaho, to Boyd John Wood and Mildred Mae Jensen Wood. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He was an accomplished entrepreneur and his career was spent in the business industry with a focus on marketing.

Kennieth was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS mission and in many callings. But his true passion was in being with the youth and building them up. He found true joy in teaching seminary and institute and touched thousands of lives. Many of these youth have a deep love for him as he connected with them in his non-judgemental and fun loving unique way. He was a scout master for years and taught the boys everything he knew. Above all, he was an incredible father and grandpa who was always there for everyone and really taught love and forgiveness through his example. Family was everything to him and he made sure they knew and felt that deeply.

He was a true handyman, building his own home with his father-in-law and gifting beautiful woodwork to friends and family. If anything was broken, he could fix it. He truly enjoyed nature and camping with the family.

Kennieth is survived by his children, Robert Wood of Idaho Falls, ID, Rochelle Escobedo of Idaho Falls, ID, Alicia (Ben) Mackowiak of Rigby, ID, Bradley (DonnaLin) Wood of Eagle Mountain, UT, and Travis Wood of Idaho Falls, ID; siblings Edgar B (Tammy) Wood of Idaho Falls, ID, and Katherine Breed of TX; step-sisters, Carol Stewart and Marilyn Brown; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Ruth Wood, and his granddaughter Angelica Escobedo.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Both visitations will be held at Wood Funeral Home East Side (Ammon). Burial will be in the Cache Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia, Idaho.
