Kevin Neal Machen, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away due to a heart attack. Kevin passed away doing a job he loved, as he always said he would.

Kevin was born February 1, 1958, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Wendell Machen and Bonnie Killian Machen. He grew up and attended schools in Osgood and graduated from Skyline High School in 1976. Kevin was a high school athlete and won many awards in wrestling, motocross, and football.

In 1992, Kevin met Brenda Reynolds. The two began dating, and Kevin quickly took in Brenda’s two children as his own. On June 13, 1998, Kevin married the love of his life, Brenda Reynolds Machen. They would welcome a third child a year later. Kevin loved his children more than anything and just wanted to see them all happy and healthy.

Kevin spent his life hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. Many summers were spent in Island Park, Idaho. Kevin’s favorite fishing spot was under the bridge at Macks Inn and he would teach other fishermen how to fish under the bridge with him; he never knew a stranger. Kevin loved taking his kids and grandkids on four-wheeler and side-by-side rides on what his family lovingly calls “The Rollercoaster.”

Kevin is survived by his wife, Brenda Machen of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Magen (John) Ayres, children, Colton, Lizzie, and Everleigh of Idaho Falls, ID; son, AJ (Lindsay) Didier, children, Charlee, Olive, and Parker of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Madison Machen of Las Vegas, NV; mother, Bonnie Machen of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Gary (Lennia) Machen of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Bruce (Pam) Machen of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Kurt (Shelly) Machen of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Joni Dyches of Washington, UT; aunt, Patricia (Cliff) Johnson of Bountiful, UT.
